In this program you will be doing various types of exercise activity as well as receiving education about healthy lifestyle choices. We have various types of specialty staff to meet your needs, and you may see some or all of them while you are in the program. Every time you come to rehab you will be working one-on-one with a physical therapist PT or exercise physiologist EP.
You will participate in different types of exercises and gain the knowledge and skills to complete exercises at home. You will also be receiving education from dieticians, psychologists, and respiratory therapists RT. A massage therapist MT is on staff to provide relaxing massages to help with pain, muscle soreness and increase circulation to the muscle tissues.
You may also consult with a recreation therapist TR or occupational therapist OT to help you incorporate physical activity into your daily routine, and assist you with finding community resources to aid in your progress and return to work or school as soon as possible. You will be asked to attend two to three days per week for a six to eight week time period.
Each session is approximately two hours long. After six to eight weeks, the rehab team will assess your progress and goals to determine if further rehabilitation is necessary or a prescribed home exercise program is right for you.
