I have about a 10' range from my router before calls are dropped. The "search connections" feature is bad, and I've had to frequently power down the unit and turn it back on to get the search working properly again. Also, I haven't seen the ability to dial a 2nd number stored under a skype contact Often if I leave the device powered, when I return home it is locked up and needs a power off and on. Battery life is very poor also Overall Review: I don't typically write reviews after New Egg purchases, because Belkin is officially on my "don't buy" list after yet another poor quality product at a premium price.
Sorry NewEgg! Cons: Very unreliable. Drops calls constantly. Horrible sound effects that are painfully loud in your ear when device fails. Echo that effects the call quality. Devices like this will destroy consumer confidence in VoIP capabilities. Cons: Keeps dropping its connection to the wireless router randomly. Note: I have several other devices, wireless bridge, laptop, etc. Sound quality isn't great. The person you call hears some static. Issue is partially the Skype network, but mostly the phone.
Overall Review: Maybe the phone I received is defective, but I will have to exchange it for an identical one to know for sure. I have no other network issues and a great Internet connection. Since the wireless connection drops randomly, your call will also be dropped if you are on the phone.
If I don't get this phone replaced, I may try out a cordless phone that is Skype compatible. Pros: Convenient Skype works nearly the same as in a computer: even the pictures are shown on the screen. Cons: There is a small lag when speaking with land telephone lines, and perhaps the battery life is shorter than it should be There are no chat capabilities, but this is the same with all skype pc-less phones.
Overall Review: I have read people say you loose the connection settings as soon as you leave it, but so far I have used the phone at home, work and even at "seatle brand coffee shop" the phone connects automaticaly Pros: don't need to have my computer on all the time to receive calls.
