Which is why we have created a convenient document for you! We are excited for you to begin using this resource! This is the document which covers everything in VA rulemaking.

If you are eligible under the law for disability, this document includes if and why your disability gets denied, what to do if you have been in the Vietnam war at a certain time and every other scenario that you could imagine. The VA has the ability to make their own rules because of the power they have been granted from Congress.

Because the public has been given written records of what their rules are, the VA is permitted to get away with governing on their own. The benefit to you is that now you can get a clearer picture of what your VA Claim outcome would be before you submit! Under each heading, there are subsections full of the documents you would need for each claimed disabilities.

If you have multiple disability ratings, we use the table below to calculate your combined VA disability rating.

You can also download the full combined ratings table PDF. Tip: Look for your highest disability rating or highest combined rating in the left column, and your next lowest disability rating in the top row.

We start by putting your disability ratings in order, from highest to lowest percentage. Next, we look for your highest rating in the left column of the combined ratings table, and the next highest rating in the top row of the combined ratings table. Then, we look across from the 50 in the left column and down from the 30 in the top row to find the number that appears where the left column and top row meet.

This is the combined value of the 2 ratings. We round combined values ending in 1 to 4 down, and those ending in 5 to 9 up. We repeat the process for each additional disability.
