On a p display the native resolution might be slightly different then p so the scaler would process it to match the displays resolution exactly. Some outboard scalers won't even pass a p signal which means you would have to bypass the scaler completely and let the display scale the image to it's native resolution. If the IF signal is not provided by the manufacturer, you will have to determine w here to tap into the rig. Please be veiy careful — I assume no responsibility for your work.
